IMPORTANT FARM TOUR GUIDELINES

  • Arrival - As a courtesy to all our guests, please arrive at your scheduled time. If your group arrives late, we will start your tour as our schedule allows. Any group arriving more than 15 min. before their scheduled time, may be asked to wait on the bus to avoid disorder. All payments must be collected ahead of time and paid to us by one representative of your party. We strongly suggest that payment be made by school check payable to Shady Brook Farm. If you do pay in cash, please have the bills (no change) neatly organized to expedite the check-in process.
  • Group Size - minimum group size is 15. Groups of less than 15 will be required to pay for the minimum number of people. We reserve the right to combine smaller groups with others if group size, time constraints, etc., warrant it.
  • Age Groups - Our tour is geared towards younger children, however we do offer our tours to 3rd grade and up. In order to better serve the needs of older children, we ask that these groups visit in the afternoon between 11 AM and 2 PM.
  • Picnic Area - If you would like to bring lunch, picnic tables are available on a first come, first served basis. You are welcome to bring blankets to sit on in the event no tables are available. You may also wish to bring hand i-wipes for the children. We also have a full-service deli that offers lunch packages for groups. Please call 215-968-1670 24 hours in advance to place orders.
  • Dress Code - Please ask parents to dress children appropriately. The farm is generally cooler and muddier than other place because of the open fields.
  • Farm Market - is open for everyone to enjoy! We sell farm fresh fruits and veggies, fresh-baked cookies, donuts, pies, and candy, in addition to many gift items. When visiting our market, we require that each group of children have adequate adult supervision.
  • Behavior Problems - Tour guides and farm staff may ask children who are behaving in an unsafe manner to wait for his/her group on the bus or at other designated location. Please remember that is is the responsibility of the group leaders and chaperones to supervise the children in their group.
  • Please bring bags pre-printed with children's names for pumpkins.
  • Reservations are not guaranteed until we receive a signed copy of your contract.
  • In event of inclement weather please call 215-968-1670 to cancel or re-schedule your tour.
